About

Theodora Millward has practiced family law in Thunder Bay since her Call to the Bar in 2016. She routinely litigates in both the Superior and Ontario Courts of Justice, is mediation trained through Insight Mediation, and is well versed in the negotiation process. She completed her practice placement with Matlow Miller LLP in Southern Ontario, started her family law career with Zochodne Bucci locally, and practiced as an Associate with Petrone & Partners for 6 years.

Theodora is committed to resolution-oriented advocacy. She navigates the negotiation and court processes with confidence and compassion for the challenges faced by her clients. She prides herself on friendly-but-firm communication and general candor. She works with her clients to identify their interests and create a tailored approach to achieving them. Mindful of the financial realities of her client, cost/benefit analysis occurs at every step of the process!

Since making Thunder Bay her home, Theodora has sat on the Thunder Bay Law Association Board, taught German as a sessional instructor at Lakehead University, and is an empaneled lawyer with the Office of the Children's Lawyer (OCL).

Currently, she devotes her time to professional growth, enjoying her adopted Northern Ontario lifestyle, and caring for her family – young, old and canine.

Theodora  was raised in Cambridge, Ontario. A child of divorce, she often travelled to Toronto or the USA to spend time with her non-custodial parent. Upon graduating high school, Theodora explored the world, pursuing her love of culture and language. She ultimately settled in Europe, where she mastered the German language, taught English, and completed her multilingual Honours Degree in Political Science and International Relations at the Technische Universitaet Darmstadt.

Upon discovering her passion for law, and yearning to establish long-term roots, she returned to Canada to attend Lakehead University as a Charter Class Member of the law school. By graduation in 2016, Theodora was fully charmed by Northern Ontario nature and the Thunder Bay way of life.
