Decision-Making

Decision-Making Responsibility (formerly known as "custody"), refers to how important decision for your child(ren) are made. This includes major medical, health, education, religious and cultural decisions - and possibly extra-curricular activity decisions.

Such decision-making can cause a lot of stress for parents post-separation, especially if there are competing views, challenges in communication, or fear of being excluded from the process. The age of the child(ren) can also be a concern.

The Court relies on the Best Interests of the Child Test to determine decision-making responsibilities.

We will discuss the uniqueness of your family dynamic, the needs of your child(ren), and your wishes to establish a decision-making regime that works. â€‹â€‹
